Creeping Crust Cobbler (a favorite recipe of Suzanne's)

Italian Fruit VendorIngredients
3/4 cup butter
1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1-1/2 cups flour
3/4 cup milk
2-1/2 cups sugar
3 cups (or more) fresh or thawed frozen fruit

Directions
1. Pour melted butter into 9 x 13 baking dish.

2. Combine flour, 1-1/2 cups sugar, baking powder, and milk.

3. Spoon batter over melted butter.

4. Mix fruit with 1 cup sugar; spoon fruit mixture over batter. (Do not mix. Batter will creep up around fruit.)

5. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
